Trauma Counseling

We offer therapy that addresses the unique changes that occur when you’ve experienced adverse childhood experiences (ie. divorce, a parent in jail, poverty) and trauma (ie sexual assault, natural disaster, war, and emotional/physical abuse). Your therapist will both recognize the unique emotional and perceptual changes that occur after experiencing trauma to help you recognize how this impacts you in your current life. Then your therapist will utilize a combination of interpersonal, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help you make more adaptive choices that can free you from the impacts of that trauma.

Your therapist may also have expertise in EMDR and can utilize this when appropriate.

We accept insurance (HBCBSNJ and Aetna) and can provide an invoice for out-of-network benefits.

If needed, we offer sliding scale rates. Learn more about sliding scale here.
